The staff wish you were dead, dont go there!!!!

Lovely staff, especially in the pharmacy, always so helpful and understanding, very friendly receptionists and comforting atmosphere.

Absolute joke, been trying to get a repeat prescription for a week now. Every day I am told it has been sorted and the pharmacy have no record. Terrible

Overall bad experience. This was our family practice from when I was born, and due to family all being registered and the Drs knowing us we never moved. Despite all the harm caused by the Gps primarily due to the need to save money. You literally have to by dying on the floor for them to see you or send you for a referral. So it comes to no surprise to see they did so poorly on the CQC report. The only good Dr they had, left as they would not allow him to expand the services. Again to conserve money. I have had several allergic reactions and requested to be referred to a specialist Gastro and Dermatologist and they wont refer me as my condition is non-life threatening. My grandmother nearly died of Diabetic Coma as the GP Dr Nath kept telling her its all in her head. My mother nearly died of exploded Gallbladder as they refused to refer her to a specialist. She suffered for 10 years! Yet we stupidly stayed with them, even though on two occasions they nearly caused death in my family. I was point blank refused treatment by Dr Fogget as I was a student and at my appointment she said go register elsewhere! Even though she was my registered GP and she knows my full record and health background. My family have now all moved away from Widbrook, something we should have done 20 years ago. I do not recommend anyone to go there especially if you have serious conditions that can potentially be life threatening. Unless you are seeing a locum who doesn't care about "Wasting money" and will actually get referrals done for you and take you seriously.

Moved to Wiltshire last year and this was our closest surgery. Good reviews on NHS choices but my experience has been anything but. I had excruciating kidney stone pain one morning and called to ask for an emergency appointment. The earliest they could see me was 3 hours away. I accepted. When the pain got worse I called to ask if they could see me earlier and they said no, I should take a paracetamol. When I eventually did see a doctor she was horrified that the receptionist had not passed on the information to an actual doctor, as she would certainly have pushed an appointment if I was in that much pain. At first though, the doctor blamed me for not saying the word "emergency" or being forceful enough on the phone. Once I told her that I had used the word several times, she backed down from making it sound like my fault. Speaking to a doctor friend of mine his eyes just got bigger and bigger as I told the story. He couldn't believe it. In another instance my daughter was being seen by an audiologist before we moved to Wiltshire and on our first visit over a year ago we asked for her to be referred to an audiologist to continue her checkups. The surgery has not yet sent the letter out. It's not as if we're still waiting for the audiologist to get back to us. Widbrook surgery hasn't even sent the referral yet and it's been more than a YEAR. After numerous phone calls all we ever get is "Oh, no it looks like it hasn't been done yet. I'll get the doctor to do it and call you back" Nothing. Today I tried once more to see if it's been done. Can't get through. It's nearly 12 noon and you can't get hold of anyone even to ask a question. Anti biotics are given out freely with no tests to check if you need them, and don't even get me started on the appointments procedure. You have to call starting at 8.30 if you want an appointment that day and I'm frequently still trying at 10.30. Even patients who get up early and physically queue at the surgery aren't guaranteed an appointment and when they get to the reception desk they are turned away and told to come back the next morning and try again. You have to know when you're going to be ill with this surgery. Booking in advance isn't a problem but when you need to see a doctor in the next 36 hours, forget it. Apparently the surgery is now on special measures for being so abominable. Moving the whole family to another surgery today!
