Went On Sunday 02/2019 as a none-guest of the hotel with an idea to use the sauna and eventually become a member.Six pound as a none guest fee , plus one pound for a towel. Very cheap. The receptionist doesn't seem to care for customers or he was tired since it was after five. Very small lockers work with 1 pound/euro only. Sauna was very small, old and damaged on the right hand side when you enter, a bottle water left over and a can of red bull, funny smell.On to of that I saw a "gentleman" run barefoot.Hot tub saw it , did not enter. I stayed ten minutes. Disappointing and concerned I left. Give receptionist the towel and said I did not use it , his replay well , "It's alright mate".What you pay is what you get.
Lovely treatments and food could do with updating.
Use to b a lovely place. But sorry to say gone down hill the last 3 years or so. Staff and treatment still niceBut can't always get times u want. Hot tub need to b renewd not working last time there. Shame such a love old hotel with lots of history to it.
Relatively basic rooms but on sight pool is good for a swim. Room we stayed in has modern bathroom which looked fairly new. Good welcome from staff.
Having seen some awful reviews, I'd like to add my view! Lovely little pool, decent gym with plenty of machines and ice cold water, changing rooms aren't the best but it's always so quiet it doesn't matter. The hotel on the whole looks like Fawlty Towers when you walk through to the pool but the staff are lovely and this only adds to it's charm. It's not ultramodern or slick but it works. Loads of exercise classes available and various therapies too.
